InDesign CC 2019 includes a new way of fitting content in graphic frames. Under Object > Fitting – we’ve had Fill Frame Proportionally (which stretches the graphic to fill the frame) and Fit Content Proportionally (which shrinks the graphic the fit the frame) for a while, but they simply center the graphic, which doesn’t usually work.

This new option – Content Aware Fit – uses Adobe Sensei technology (artificial intelligence) to analyze the image and fit the important content within the frame. It doesn’t always work perfectly (and unfortunately isn’t available as a Frame Fitting Option), but it very often does an amazing job.
