InDesign CC Content Aware Fit
Object > Fitting > Content-Aware Fit
There have always been many options to set how a graphic will fit to a frame (or the frame to the content), but none of these options have ever taken the subject of the graphic/image into account. Adobe Sensei analyzes the graphic, determining the main subject, then places it attempting to create a pleasing composition.
The default keyboard shortcut is command+option+X [control+alt+X] to quickly experiment to see how it may differ from Fill Frame Proportionally, for example, but there’s also a way to make it the ‘Default Frame Fitting Option’ for placing graphics/images in your Preferences > General > Content-Aware Fit.
