InDesign CC Text Wrap – Select Subject
Window > Text Wrap > Select Subject
Usually, when wrapping text around an object, the choice is to simply follow the shape of the bounding box, then setting how far you’d like to extend the text wrap around the object. What do you do then, if you’d like the text inside a frame that’s sitting on top of an image to wrap around the central subject of that image? This is the answer.
Select the image that is behind the text frame- Set the text wrap style to ‘Wrap around object shape’
- Set Contour Options to ‘Select Subject’
After analyzing the content of the image (Adobe Sensei) a text wrap ‘path’ is generated, following the shape of the image content. The overall offset of this path can be set in the panel, but individual nodes can also be edited with the Direct Selection Tool (A).
